Neuroscientist and behavioural researcher joins Clayton Burnett
Clayton Burnett Ltd, the “transformational consultancy, coaching and creativity company”, has announced the appointed Dr Susanne Droste, a post-
doctorate neuroscientist and behavioural researcher, to the team.
Dr Droste, who is also a qualified alternative psychotherapist, stress management coach and practitioner of neuro-linguistic programming, will work
with the team to develop the emotional power of fundraisers and fundraising, and will take on a key role in contributing to some of the company’s events in the UK and Europe.
Alan Clayton, founding partner of Clayton Burnett said: “For many years now I’ve been absolutely convinced of the incredible power of emotion in fundraising but until recently had very little evidence in hand to answer the perennial question ‘Can you prove it?’
“Susanne has spent the last 15 years working at some of the most prestigious academic institutions in the world on the causes of emotional engagement and empathy and can finally, finally explain what happens in the brain and body when a donor receives an inspiring and effective fundraising appeal. I am delighted to welcome her to the team.”
Dr Droste said: “I believe that if a person lives (and works) in line with his/her body, brain and mind and understands better how this complex system works, one can transform oneself as well as the business. The insights from behavioural neuroscience provide especially in the fundraising sector great opportunities as this is a highly emotional business and you want to touch the hearts of your donors”.
