Brian Burnie and the Burnie Family Charitable Trust (ii)

In June 2009, I posted a blog (Brian Burnie and the Burnie Family Charitable Trust) about the intention of Brian Burnie to sell his luxury Northumberland hotel Doxford Hall Hotel, near Alnwick, and donate money to local charities in the north east of England, via the Burnie Family Charitable Trust.
I set up a news alert, and have just discovered that the hotel has now been sold, to Robert and Gina Parker “in a multi-million pound deal”. Mr Burnie had put the venture up for sale for £9 million in September 2009. It might be worth tracking the Burnie Family Charitable Trust. However, at the time, I could not see the Burnie Family Charitable Trust on the Charity Commission register, nor on the Scottish Charity Register, and I still can’t. None of the articles that I read about this in 2009 made any mention of the Burnie family’s existing grant-making trust. The Doxford Hall Charitable Trust supports local charities in the north east of England, and the trustees are Mr Brian Thomas Burnie and Mrs June Shirley Burnie. Perhaps we should keep an eye on that Trust.
I understand that the Parkers also own Guyzance Hall and Eshott Hall in Northumberland and the Tedsmore Estate in Shropshire, which also sounds interesting.
