Online fundraising service Buy Once Give Twice is rebranding and relaunching on 19 April as Giving Lots.
Co-founded by Emma Leschallas and launched in April 2008, the auction site has raised over £570,000 by reselling items that were bought at charity auctions and were never used. The site was bought in November 2009 with backing from two private investors.
Continuing under the banner ‘philanthropic recycling for the 21st century’, the new site promises to feature an expanded set of fundraising services.
Giving Lots has been chosen as the online auction partner for the Elephant Parade London 2010, hosted by the charity Elephant Family, which will see 257 colourful model elephants taking to the streets of London. Next month Giving Lots will also have a travel auction in aid of Quintessentially Foundation.
A seminar for all partner charities is planned for late May. Meanwhile, the company says that all BuyOnceGiveTwice charities will be personally contacted.
