The Legacy marketing group’s discussion forum has switched from Smartgroups.com to Yahoo! Groups.

This forum is designed “for all legacy marketing professionals to discuss issues and share relevant information on all aspects of legacy fundraising”.

The SmartGroups service on which it was originally hosted closed down on 30 November 2006.

Yahoo! Groups offers message archives, polls, file sharing and photos. Members of the forum can choose to receive email alerts of the latest messages or view the latest discussions on the web.

Membership requires approval from the forum’s moderator.

At present there are 44 members but as the list members switch over this figure should rise.

The legacy marketing group joins a number of fundraising special interest groups that use the free Yahoo! Groups service, including prospect-research-uk, Institute of Fundraising South West, corporate fundraising, and trust fundraising. The charitywebforum is also hosted on Yahoo! Groups.
