New edition of Environment Funding Guide
The Directory of Social Change has published a new edition of its Environment Funding Guide. The last edition was published more than ten years ago.
Author Denise Lillya said that environmental fundraising has developed considerably since the last edition, but that funding sources have not grown as much as might be expected. “In spite of the largest UK trusts and foundations increasing their giving to environmental charities they still give overall less than 3% of their grants to environmental issues”, she said.
The guide includes new chapters on getting started, developing a strategy, recruiting a fundraiser, preparing a budget, project fundraising, writing a good application, campaigning issues, environmental organisations and charitable status and tax requirements and benefits.

Lillya explained: “The aim has been not only to give fundraisers directions to sources of funding but to advise them on all aspects of making applications to the various funding sources”.
The fourth edition of the Environment Funding Guide is available from the Directory of Social Change for £35.
