The Charity Retail Association’s social media campaign is running up to Volunteers Week with the aim of encouraging more people to consider charity shop volunteering.

#CharityShopVolunteer (part 1) is taking place before  Volunteers Week (1-7 June), and sees the Charity Retail Association posting ‘Reasons to volunteer’, aimed at getting the public thinking about the benefits charity shop volunteering has to offer.

Part 2 of the campaign will take place during the week itself, and will focus on thanking volunteers.

To encourage charities to participate in part 1, the association has created a series of shareable images with suggested copy to accompany them that can be downloaded from its site. Charities are invited to download, like, tag, follow and share the campaign.

Its downloadable reasons to volunteer include ‘Be a sustainable fashion champion’, ‘Use your influence’, ‘Learn new skills’, and ‘Make new friends’.

Part 2 of #CharityShopVolunteer will be shared later this month.
