Companies Act 2006
The latest (free) edition of Information World Review www.iwr.co.uk has (as usual) a number of interesting articles. The centre pages have an article on the implementation of the Companies Act. The final instalment is in October 2009. There has been some discussion already about the increased likelihood of service addresses being used, making it harder to get home addresses for directors. Will they be thorough enough to withhold home addresses of shareholders? This is not always the case at the moment, so here’s hoping.
The article also mentions the need for information professionals [prospect researchers, fundraisers and others] to be aware of “the various technologies and options in this area”. Hmm, I’m not sure what this might mean for us. I must get on to the bods at Researchers in Fundraisers, and see if they think this is a fitting topic for a future conference.
