The Institute of Fundraising is offering up to 50 free places for small charities (those with an income of under £100,000) at its Fight the Recession with Gift Aid conference in London on 9 June.
The event, the Institute’s first conference on the subject, will feature an update about the latest Gift Aid developments from Keith Moore, Head of HMRC Charities, HMRC, together with tips for performing well during HMRC audits from Ian Gledhill, Compliance Manager, HMRC Charities, HMRC.
The event is designed to inspire charities of all sizes to make the most of Gift Aid, by claiming tax back on a range of fundraising activities including events, donated goods and visitor attractions.
Mike Wade MInstF, Director of Fundraising and Communications at the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) and Chair of this event, said: “As many charities suffer the double whammy of reduced income and increased demand for their services, knowing how to make the most of Gift Aid has never been more important. The ‘Fight the Recession with Gift Aid’ conference is therefore essential for any charity, large or small, wanting to maximise its income and beat the crunch.”
The event costs £175 for Institute individual members, £225 for not-for-profits, and £275 for commercial organisations.
UK Fundraising is a media partner for this and other Institute of Fundraising one-day conferences.
Applications for bursaries must be made by 1 May 2009.
