Epilepsy Research UK receives £25,000 from Grand Charity

Epilepsy Research UK (ERUK) has been granted £25,000 from The Freemasons’ Grand Charity to help fund research into a recently identified type of epilepsy syndrome that starts in infancy.
Funding from ERUK will enable the researchers to test blood samples from around 200 children who developed epilepsy in infancy to see if they show signs of this mutation.
Laura Chapman, Chief Executive of The Freemasons’ Grand Charity said: “Over 440,000 people in the UK have epilepsy and The Freemasons’ Grand Charity is delighted to be supporting this important research into the cause and prevention of the condition. Through our grants we aim to make a significant difference to people in real need.”
