Ireland Funds launches €100 million campaign

Howard Lake | 20 December 2010 | News

The Worldwide Ireland Funds have announced the launch of the ‘Promising Ireland Campaign,’ a fundraising initiative with a €100 million target by 2013.
The Funds say the campaign will help charitable organisations in Ireland and Irish communities abroad who face increased demand for their services in the midst of the recession.
The Funds began the campaign’s ‘quiet phase’ in 2009 and have already raised €40 million towards the €100 million target. With this announcement the public phase has begun.
The priority areas of the campaign are:
* Supporting a shared future in Northern Ireland
* Promoting philanthropy in Ireland
* Providing access to education
* The promotion of Irish culture and heritage
* Assisting disadvantaged youth
* Assisting the elderly ‘forgotten Irish’
