Fundingpoint.ie – funding information for (Republic of) Ireland

Howard Lake | 23 June 2008 | Blogs

I note that The Wheel (www.wheel.ie) has announced that the launch of Fundingpoint.ie is due to take place in Dublin on 4th July, 2008. This will be a subscription based service (developed by The Wheel), and will apparently include details of “several hundred funding schemes”, including grant-making trusts, corporate sources, central and local government, and EU sources.
I have a couple of editions of “Irish Fundraising Handbook” (www.create-ireland.ie) , which includes a handful of grant-making trusts. It will be interesting to see how many more are included on the website and whether the arrival of the new register for charities in the Republic of Ireland leads to the gradual inclusion of many more trusts.
I understand that the Fundingpoint website “will also serve as the Republic of Ireland’s premier source of funding news and information”. Have you got that Howard?
I have always found The Wheel to be a useful source of information relating to fundraising, and the voluntary sector in general, in the Republic of Ireland, so the new website should be a welcome development.
