WhaleSlide launches upgraded version of philanthropic search engine

Melanie May | 18 April 2017 | News

WhaleSlide is encouraging more charities to join its philanthropic search engine with the launch of an upgraded version this week (20th April).
The WhaleSlide search engine is free for charities to use and donates 50% of profits to a user’s chosen charities when they purchase through one of 17,000 partner retailers. When a user performs a search through WhaleSlide, participating retailers appear in the search results accompanied by a ‘raise’ icon. An app is due to launch that will give all the functionality of WhaleSlide on a phone, enabling users to perform searches, raise money for their chosen cause, as well as build and access collections of content relevant to their personal interests.
WhaleSlide launched in November 2015, and 320 charities are currently using the site. WhaleSlide is inviting more to join, with trials of the site showing an average of just over £20 raised per user throughout the year.

Andy Curran, co-founder and COO, WhaleSlide said:

“With charities being squeezed everywhere, it’s more important than ever to utilise every potential revenue stream and this is an easy win for any charity. WhaleSlide can help your charity, whatever its size.”
