Authors team up with Primula Cheese to support NSPCC
Primula Cheese has already raised £13,000 for the NSPCC in a campaign that sees it donate 20% of the profits from limited edition branded tubes directly to the charity.
The NSPCC campaign asks children to ‘Dream Big’, and a number of authors have also joined in including Philip Ardagh and Cathy Cassidy, sharing their childhood aspirations on social media to help illustrate the importance of young people growing up in a safe and secure environment.
The limited edition green NSPCC Primula Tubes started appearing on shelves in Asda, Morrison’s, Tesco and Sainsbury’s stores, and selected smaller independent stores from 27th February.
The 20% of profits donated to the NSPCC is in addition to the money already given to charities through the Kavli Trust, which owns Primula Cheese.
Peter Wanless, chief executive of the NSPCC, said:
“Childhood should be a time when we’re free to dream big. Abuse can destroy that, which is why we are so thankful for the support of Primula Cheese in helping us towards our goal of keeping five million more children safe by 2021.
“Having young people’s authors also back the campaign and share their childhood aspirations reinforces the importance of our work in safeguarding as many childhoods as possible.”
