WWF fails to secure wwf.com domain name
The domain name arbitration panel of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) has ruled against the World Wildlife Fund’s (WWF) claim to the wwf.com domain name.
The case has been developing for some years, ever since the charity tried to secure the wwf.com address from the World Wrestling Federation, which shared its initials.
Although the High Court in England had previously ordered the World Wrestling Federation to change or cancel any domain names which featured the WWF initials, the charity was not successful this time in wresting the domain name from its current owner, Texas-based Gregory Ricks.

According to WIPO the World Wildlife Fund could not demonstrate bad faith registration at the time of registration by Mr Ricks, so he remains the owner of wwf.com.
