Charity IT Association launch offers free support for nonprofits
Charities are being offered free IT support with the launch of the Charity IT Association (CITA).
CITA launched on 5th July, and aims to offer a planning to delivery solution to enable charities to use technology to improve their effectiveness. It delivers its services through volunteer IT experts.
The free services on offer are:
- Tech Surgery: a strategic review of IT lasting up to 2 hours and resulting in short report with recommendations on potential projects to improve usage of IT
- IT Consultancy: support to manage IT projects, select and manage suppliers and guide business process change
- IT Project Delivery: help to deliver IT projects, in website development, hardware and network development, CRM systems, accounting systems and any other area of IT.
Its founding members are The Worshipful Company of Information Technologists (WCIT), AbilityNet, Reach Volunteering, LASA and Technology Trust, and it is funded by WCIT, City Bridge Trust and Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
The services are offered to UK charities with a turnover between £50K and £5M, and registered with the Charity Commission or Scottish Charity Regulator.
Charities can apply for help via the CITA site.
