CAF Chief Executive to step down

Howard Lake | 1 October 2006 | News

Stephen Ainger, Chief Executive of Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), is leaving CAF after four years of service. CAF’s Finance Director takes over today as interim CEO.

Stephen Ainger explained why he had resigned, saying: “I have decided to step down as Chief Executive at CAF because, after four years, and prior to the strategic review moving to the next stage, I felt it was the appropriate time to move on.”

He added that he was proud to have played a part in growing the value that CAF adds to the charity sector.

Chair of Trustees, Simon Cairns said: “In his four years at CAF Stephen has led the organisation through a period of unprecedented change and, more recently, completed the first phase of a strategic review. CAF is now well placed to move on to the next stage of the review and Stephen felt it was timely for him to step down.

“As CAF’s Chairman I would wish to pay tribute to the important contribution that Stephen has made and to wish him well in his future career.”

Finance Director Tony Rogers takes over the Chief Executive’s role as an interim measure while the charity seeks a successor to Ainger.
