The Grand Appeal brings international ‘Gromit Unleashed’ sculptures to Bristol
The Grand Appeal has brought statues of Gromit from ‘The Greatest Dog Show on Earth’ in Hong Kong to Bristol for a 10-week exhibition which will raise further funds for the Bristol Children’s Hospital charity.
The 16 designs were exhibited in Hong Kong in July 2014 and have not been seen in the UK so far. They were part of a display of 70 five-foot and three-foot Gromit designs, all of which were auctioned to raise funds for The Grand Appeal and children’s art programmes in hospitals across Hong Kong.
Now the 16 Gromits can be viewed at The Grand Appeal’s shop at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway.
‘The Greatest Dog Show On Earth’ followed the success of The Grand Appeal’s ‘Gromit Unleashed’ trail in Bristol in 2013, which saw 80 Gromit sculptures designed by artists, designers and celebrities raise £2.3 million at auction for Bristol Children’s Hospital.
The exhibition is running for ten weeks from 1 February to 10 April and be free to enter, with a suggested £2 entry donation welcome to The Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children’s Hospital charity.
