Everyclick to expand charities' income through keyword advertising service

Howard Lake | 14 August 2006 | News

Everyclick.com, the search engine that gives 50% of its revenues to charity, has launched a new keyword advertising service that will help it generate its revenues and those for charities even more. The service is being pre-launched to the charity sector with a range of special offers for early bookers, including discounts of up to 50% on keywords bought by charities already registered with everyclick.

As with its other activities, everyclick will donate 50% of all advertising revenues to charities registered with them.

Everyclick’s pricing model for keywords differs from those offered by other search engines such as Google and its AdWords. Everyclick’s keywords will be sold on a ‘first come first served’ basis for a fixed price and a fixed term, offering potentially very low costs for first movers. Everyclick say that, through special package deals, keywords could cost as little as 1p
per day.

Indeed, all keywords on everyclick cost the same. There is no bidding and no click through fees: costs remain the same no matter how many times a search term is clicked. Furthermore the more keywords you buy the cheaper they get.

The launch of this new keyword advertising service coincides with everyclick’s first anniversary.

Everyclick claims now to be “one of the largest charity sites in the UK” with more than 300,000 users from over 1,400 charities choosing to search the web and raise funds for their charity.

Polly Gowers, managing director of everyclick.com commented: We are really excited about this next phase in the development of everyclick. Online advertising is the fastest growing ad spend medium in the UK and through everyclick, charities can now access a bigger share of that pot.”

Future developments for everyclick include a partnership later this year CAF (Charities Aid Foundation) which will enable it to increase the reach of its service to support all 170,000 UK charities and a further 50,000 charities internationally.
