NCVO and JustGiving offer free online skills training for 12 small charities
A bursary scheme from NCVO and JustGiving will offer 12 small charities access to free online skills training for a year.
The charities will receive a free annual subscription to Studyzone, part of the KnowHowNonProfit online training platform for the voluntary sector run by NCVO. The first six bursaries, each worth £99, will be awarded in July, and another six later in the year.
The organisations that receive the bursaries will be able to access over 50 courses designed to help them be more effective. These cover campaigning, risk assessment, writing bids for funding, and volunteer management.
Who is eligible?
In order to qualify for a bursary for Studyzone, charities must be based in England, registered with the Charity Commission and have no more than 10 paid members of staff.
Wider access to online support
The bursaries are part of a wider partnership between NCVO and JustGiving which is designed to increase access to online advice and support on running a charity, social enterprise or community group.
Megan Griffith Gray, head of digital and communications at NCVO, said:

“We know it can be hard for small organisations to access high quality training, which is why NCVO provides Studyzone. As an online resource it allows people to study at their own pace, wherever they are. We are delighted to be working with JustGiving to give more organisations the ability to become more effective so that they can make an even bigger difference.”
The bursary scheme has been launched to celebrate Small Charity Week, taking place between 15 and 20 June.
