Londoners asked to donate winter coats for people in need

The fourth annual Wrap Up London campaign takes place in early November, encouraging Londoners to donate unwanted coats for distribution via charities to people in need.
Run by Hands On London, the campaign collects donated clothes primarily at 10 rail and Tube stations, including Paddington, Baker Street, Charity Cross, London Bridge, King’s Cross, and Waterloo. The volunteer-run collection points aim to catch people on their way into work in London, and are open from 7-11am from 5, 6 and 7 November.
Those who can’t reach one of those collection points can still donate coats up to two weeks after the campaign at one of four Safestore Self Storage centres and the Broadgate Welcome Centre near Liverpool Street Station.
Whom do the coats help?
The 2013 Wrap Up London campaign secured 15,700 donated coats.
This year the coats will be sorted and sent to over 120 organisations who help homeless people, the elderly, refugees, immigrants, children in poverty, and women and children who have fled domestic violence.
