The majority of charities are now publishing online and a third are looking at ways to charge for content, according to a survey of NCVO members.

Fifty charities responded to the NCVO Publishers’ Forum survey. Ten per cent of them said they were already charging for online content, while 55% stated that they would continue to offer information at no charge.

Some charities are already enjoying cost savings by publishing online. Volunteering England now publishes its membership magazine online only, having stopped the printed version last year.
