Survey on online fundraising needs of UK charities

Howard Lake | 24 April 2006 | News

UK charities are invited to take part in a short online survey to help identify their key needs and issues in online fundraising. The survey, on behalf of a successful US-based company, closes on 29 April. All participants will be entered into a draw to win an iPod Nano.

The survey has been devised by MBA students at the University of Texas’ McCombs School of Business. It has been designed to help them learn more about the particular needs and readiness of the UK charity and nonprofit sector to use the Internet for communicating with supporters and constituents to develop strong relationships and drive fundraising.

All legitimate survey respondents from UK-based charities and nonprofits will receive a report on the survey results.

In addition, the first 100 respondents will receive a £5 gift certificate for Virgin Megastores, as well as the chance to win a new iPod Nano.

Although the survey asks respondents for their charity’s name and e-mail address, the survey’s creators say that this information will only be used to share the survey results, and to award the gift certificates and iPod. “Respondents’ information will not be used to market services, and it will not be shared with third parties”, say the survey team.
