1,486 new grantmakers last year in England and Wales

Last year, 1,468 new grantmaking organisations were established in England and Wales, according to grantmaking researchers New Charities.

According to New Charities, over 40% of the new grantmakers were “irrelevant to professional fundraisers”, so the ‘top trusts’ have been selected from the remaining 872, which were then analysed by prospect research specialists Finbar Cullen, who blogs on UK Fundraising.
Top Trusts 2013 costs £150 to purchase. It is also available for free to those who take out an annual subscription to New Charities’ monthly Trust List.
