Family support charity wins £10,000 Kent charity competition

Howard Lake | 20 October 2005 | News

Thanet Early Years Project, which helps Kent’s worst-off families, has won the £10,000 top prize in the Get Kent Giving competition, part of the National Giving Week campaign.

The competition was clearly worth entering as only around 100 charities were nominated by people in the county. Run by CAF in conjunction with the Kent Messenger Group, the competition was designed to encourage businesses and people in Kent to make regular, tax-efficient donations to their favourite causes.

The £4,000 runner-up prize went to Deal Pathfinders Club, which helps adults with mental health problems and learning disabilities. Another eight charities received £1,000 each.
