Milly Dowler fund to close after three years

The charity set up in memory of murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler is to close, and will hand over the £800,000 it has raised to The Suzy Lamplugh Trust.
The charity, set up by Milly’s parents, was only ever intended to run for three years. It focused on promoting awareness of personal safety among children and young adults, and worked closely with the Suzy Lamplugh Trust which also works in the personal safety field.
Fundraising events and government funding helped the fund with projects such as the “Watch Over Me” video sent to every secondary school in the UK and the Teach UR Mum 2 Txt campaign which won first prize at the 3GSM Global Awards Ceremony in Cannes, France.
