New guide for donors for HIV/AIDS projects in central Africa
New Philanthropy Capital has published a guide for donors and funders of HIV/AIDS programmes in Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Rwanda.
New Philanthropy Capital has published its latest report, “Out of the Shadows: HIV/AIDS in Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda – a guide for donors and funders”.
The report examines the global context of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, the role of international bodies and funders, and the lessons learned in other parts of sub-Saharan Africa.

The report finds that the funding available is currently inadequate and that private individuals can play a role on many levels. It concludes that the vicious circle of infection and poverty increases the spread and worsens the effects of HIV/AIDS, and it confirms that funding and implementing projects in these countries is challenging.
New Philanthropy Capital include in the report profiles of charities “that we recommend and believe warrant support”.
