Two Scottish newspapers support Macmillan Cancer Relief

Scotland’s biggest circulation newspaper, the Daily Record, and its sister paper the Sunday Mail are to donate 5p from every paper sold in three towns in North East Scotland between 6 June and 3 July to Macmillan Cancer Relief.
Money raised will go to help Macmillan support local people affected by cancer throughout the area. This will include Macmillan Patient Grants (financial support for patients and their families) and ongoing development of Macmillan nurses and other health professionals.
Shops in Inverurie, Huntly and Turriff that sell the Daily Record and Sunday Mail are all taking part in the scheme. Envelopes will be available in these shops for locals to collect and deposit the barcodes from the newspapers. The barcodes will then be converted in to cash for Macmillan Cancer Relief.

The scheme has also gained the support of local newspapers. The Inverurie Herald, Inverurie Advertiser, Turriff Advertiser and Huntly Express have all joined the scheme to support the charity.
Unfortunately a search of the Daily Record website today did not reveal any mention of the Macmillan partnership. Nor was there any evidence of donated banner advertising for the charity.
