Countess of Wessex is ChildLine's first patron
Her Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex has become the first patron of ChildLine, the children’s helpline charity.
In her first engagement as patron, the Countess presented the first ever Patron’s Awards to key supporters of ChildLine at an event at the BT Tower. Some of the supporters had been involved since the charity’s launch.
The Countess has been an active supporter of ChildLine during its 18th year, making visits to the charity’s centres in Leeds and Manchester as well as officially opening ChildLine’s premises in East London in 2002.
