New Community Fundraising manager at NSE

Howard Lake | 20 November 2003 | News

The National Society for Epilepsy (NSE) now has a Community Fundraising Manager to maximise fundraising opportunities across the UK.

Simon Ekless takes up this new role having worked at NSE as a fundraising officer for four years. He said: “It became clear that NSE needed someone to develop and encourage those supporters across the country who enthusiastically raise funds for epilepsy, and at the same time increase the profile of NSE’s work helping people with epilepsy”.

Statutory funding covers the residential care side of NSE’s remit, and research grants contribute significantly to the pioneering projects undertaken by NSE specialists. However, the charity relies on donations from individuals, groups and companies, as well as grants from Trusts to underpin this and other aspects of its work.

Information provision is another high priority in NSE’s mission and much of the regional fundraising will contribute to the development of our unique information outreach service in local hospitals – the Epilepsy Information Network.
