Strategy Unit publishes report on overhauling charity law
The Strategy Unit has at long last published its report entitled “Private Action, Public Benefit”.
The report calls for the replacement of the 400-year-old definition of charity, new types of company for charities and social enterprises, better information from charities for the public, and the modernisation of the role of the Charity Commission.
The full report can be viewed online, together with its annexes, and a series of background papers published alongside the report, one of which addresses the regulation of fundraising.
