Centre for Social Justice Awards ceremony

Applications for this year’s Centre for Social Justice Awards 2009 are now open. Groups that are tackling local poverty and giving people a second chance in life can apply to win a share of the £50,000 prize money.

This is the fifth year of the CSJ Awards, during which time over £150,000 has been awarded to more than 25 organisations.

The Awards ceremony attracts an audience of senior policy makers and politicians which have included David Blunkett, John Reid, David Cameron, Boris Johnson, Vince Cable and Sir Menzies Campbell.

Applicants should describe in 500 words or fewer how their organisation makes an exceptional contribution to tackling poverty and turning lives around.

The closing date for applications is 17 March 2009.
