New business ethics sites to launch

Howard Lake | 12 January 2001 | News

Companies’ ethical business records will be published online by GoodCorporation.com.

Charities seeking to check the ethical business stance of potential corporate donors and partners will be able to view this information on a new Web site to be published by GoodCorporation.com. Access to the site will be charged at £2,000 per year.

The information on the site appears to be being gathered afresh, rather than from existing companies such as the Ethical Information Research Service or Corporate Critic. Companies wishing to be listed on the site will be judged on their record on 21 principles, listed in the site’s charter. GoodCorporation.com will arrange for “independent auditors” to check that companies comply with the charter when they join and every 18 months thereafter.
