Shine.com was a philanthropy portal launched in 2000 from the same stable as non-profit online networking pioneers CharityChannel.com. Chief Operating Officer of CharityChannel.com Michael Wyland explained recently that plans for a Shine.com Global Network had to be scaled down following the down turn in technology stocks in April 2000.

Shine.com offered intriguing possibilities for the non-profit sector in the USA and further afield. No doubt its ideas and services will be picked up by others in the field. Or maybe CharityChannel.com itself will expand even further and carry forward some of shine.com’s ideas.
