Working in collaboration with Manchester Homelessness Partnership and Forever Manchester, Stagecoach has donated £10,000 each to 10 different grassroots charitable organisations, which are delivering services to people experiencing homelessness in and around the Manchester area.

Selco awards £20,000 to winners of its Community Heroes campaign
Selco Builders Warehouse has announced four winners of its nationwide community heroes campaign that celebrates charities and projects. Winners receive a combination of donated building materials and cash prizes.
The nationwide campaign has been running for five years. The current campaign began a year ago in February and has so far supported 40 organisations, with donations totalling £60,000.

First place went to Cleopatra’s Legacy CIC from Kent, which has been awarded with the top prize fund of £10,000. Co-founded by Raine and Desiree Nurse, the organisation provides specialist products and compassionate support to people affected by breast cancer, hair loss and long-term illness, offering specialist products including wigs, headwear, breast forms, mastectomy bras and private fittings.
Second place was awarded to Together for Cinema CIC, a Surrey-based organisation, which creates home cinema experiences in children’s hospices and family care locations across the UK. It will receive £5,000 to put towards several cinema projects the team has planned next year.
Third place was jointly awarded to two organisations, which will each receive £2,500. LATCH (Leeds Action To Create Homes) plans to use the funding to renovate empty properties in its community, turning them into homes that support people on their journey towards independence. SPIN (Supporting People In Need), a Manchester-based charity, will use the £2,500 funding to continue supporting the needs of homeless people in the area.
“Community Heroes is all about recognising the incredible work being done by people and organisations across the UK” concluded David Lennon, commercial director at Selco Builders Warehouse.
