Is there such a thing as a free lunch in fundraising? Can people give to charity without it costing them anything? Here are some ideas of how to do it.

Giving for free isn’t our favourite message as fundraisers. Of course you can give in various ways, that doesn’t have to be monetary. It could be giving time, skill, or in kind, a donated item for example. Hard cash though is usually the most valuable and flexible.

But there are some clever and often very straightforward ways of giving to charity that don’t cost the donor a penny. And amid the ongoing cost of living crisis and beyond they can provide a useful alternative or additional way to support your charity.
