North East Essex Hyperlocal Fund offers £370,000 to improve health and wellbeing
A new fund has been announced that will support local groups in North East Essex to deliver initiatives that improve the health and wellbeing for local residents.
The North East Essex Hyperlocal Fund will be administered by Community360 on behalf of One Colchester, the strategic partnership for Colchester and CVS Tendring on Behalf of Tendring Together.
Grants will range from £1,000 – £10,000. In addition, “projects exceeding this will be considered”.

The North East Essex Hyperlocal Fund is designed to “support the development of asset rich, resilient local Neighbourhoods that improve health and wellbeing for local residents”. Funds can be used to support local projects and to improve residents’ lives.
Who can apply?
Applications are now open. The fund is open to not-for-profit organisations, local networks and public sector partnerships such as:
- registered voluntary and charitable organisations
- community groups
- tenants and resident groups
- district and parish councils
- faith groups
- and social enterprises.
Louise Willsher, Head of Projects at Community360 said:
“This is such a fantastic opportunity for local charities and groups to help address issues such as deprivation and inequalities, improving mental health, health and wellbeing by reducing isolation and loneliness, increasing physical activity to reduce obesity and improving physical health.
“We welcome applications from neighbourhood and parish based organisations and groups who can demonstrate the effective change the funding can offer to their clients and service users…
“If you are running a local coffee morning, community hall, friendship club or walking group and
could benefit from funding, we want to hear from you.”
Projects can help anyone of any age.
Applications are now open with a closing date and time of 5pm on 30 September 2021.
Community360 is an independent charity established in 1968 to assist charities, voluntary and community organisations in Colchester and Braintree (300+) through any activities which provide representation, enable development, encourage liaison, nurture strategic partnerships and provide support to promote voluntary action.
