Eleven brands pledge support for BHF’s 60th birthday

The British Heart Foundation turns 60 later this month (28 July), and eleven brands have committed to raising funds for it to mark the occasion.

The brands, which are from both consumer and B2B industries, and include Mindful Chef and musicMagpie, have joined BHF’s Team 60 and committed to raising over £375,000 in total to help the BHF continue to fund heart and circulatory disease research.

Mindful Chef 

Mindful Chef has worked with BHF dietitians to create heart health recipes, which BHF ambassadors, the Mac Twins, did a live cook-a-long of on 30 June. The event aimed to raise awareness of heart healthy eating with the Twins who lost their father suddenly to a heart attack when he was in his 50s. 


Love Beets 

To help celebrate the BHF’s 60 years, 5p from every pack of Love Beets No Vinegar Pouch Beetroot will be donated to the BHF between July-September to raise a minimum of £10,000. These can be found exclusively in Tesco. 


Haute Florist

Sustainable florist, Haute Florist have created an exclusive British Heart Foundation themed Hat Box. 25% of each Hat Box sale from 1 June – 31 August will be donated to the BHF. Overall, the luxury online flower service hopes to raise £20,000 for the charity. 


F. Hinds & Chappelle

Another luxury brand with a charitable heart is F.Hinds & Chapelle. The independent family-owned and run jewellery business is guaranteeing a minimum donation of £15,000 to the BHF to mark its 60th birthday. 5% of the sale price of all products with a heart design will be donated between 21 June and 23 July. They are also running a prize draw to give away a 9ct Gold Open Heart Ruby Necklace worth £325 between 28 June and – 23 July.

musicMagpie will be raising a minimum of £60,000 for the BHF. The company will donate £1 for every tech item traded-in or sold on its website and app between 1 July – 31 July. Customers can also opt to donate the value of the tech they trade in to the BHF, raising funds for the charity while helping the environment and contributing to a circular economy. Staff will take on fundraising challenges and events for the charity too. 


Auto Trader

Digital automotive marketplace Auto Trader is joining the Team 60 BHF initiative to help fuel the BHF’s pioneering research. It is aiming to raise £10,000 by asking staff teams of six to walk 60,000 steps per person, per week for two weeks. 


Helping Hands 

Home care provider Helping Hands is aiming to raise £60,000 for the BHF. Each of its 140 branches will be undertaking their own unique and individual fundraising challenges to celebrate the charity’s 60th birthday. 


PayPal Giving Fund 

PayPal Giving Fund UK is supporting the BHF throughout the month of July by spotlighting the charity as one of PayPal’s checkout featured charities which could raise over £50,000 – enough to fund a heart attack research project for six months. 


Coinstar 

Located in over 1,600 UK supermarkets, Coinstar offers continuous support to the BHF by encouraging customers to donate their loose change to life saving research. As a long-term partner of the BHF, since 2001 it has raised over £400k for the charity, and continues its support this year. 


Speedy

The UK hire provider of tools, plant and specialist equipment is aiming to raise £50,000 for the BHF’s 60th birthday. Inspired by the stories of its employees who have been affected by heart and circulatory diseases, Speedy wants to raise awareness and funds for the BHF. Employees will walk, run or swim 60 kilometres over a month’s period to fundraise for further life saving research. 


BAM

BAM Construct UK Ltd has pledged to raise £100,000 for research over the next two years as part of its national charity partnership with the British Heart Foundation.  Leading up to the BHF’s 60th birthday, employees are undertaking even more fundraising challenges including physical challenges, quizzes and at home decluttering. BAM’s long-term sustainability ambition is to have an overall positive impact on society and the environment and it is keen to work closely with the BHF on this.  As part of the BHF’s sustainable shopping initiative BAM is arranging to have clothing donation stations on a number of its projects.
