Givergy switches to Stripe Connect for payment handling

Auction and live event fundraising platform Givergy has now integrated with Stripe Connect for all its payment handling around the world, covering 136 currencies from its operations in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and Hong Kong. This will enable them to provide a faster and easier transfer of funds raised through live event and online auctions to charities.
With Stripe Connect, charities will now get paid automatically at the end of their payment collection period into their own secure sub-account. This will eliminate any risk of delayed charity payment by removing Givergy as the aggregator, and remove the need for manual reconciliation.
Stripe allows both individuals and businesses to accept digital payments. It differs from other payment systems such as PayPal in that the user tends not to be aware that they are using Stripe. Stripe is typically used by developers to link to their systems via an API.
Rachael Kirkham, Head of Client Services at Givergy, said:
“Stripe is fundamentally changing the way we work with our charity partners. Anyone in the world can donate or participate in an auction at any point in time and the charity will receive their funds raised quicker and fully reconciled than ever before.”
Givergy’s COO, Jon Douglas added:
“To put it simply, Stripe will revolutionise the efficiency with which we connect the consumer and charity. This integration was not only a necessary step in improving our business here in the UK, but is integral to our ambitions abroad. By having one payment platform for all territories we can continue to deliver outstanding results for all existing and future clients.”
