Localgiving reaches £15m for local charities & community groups

Localgiving has announced that it has now raised over £15 million for local charities and community groups across the UK since launching in 2009.
More than £3 million of this total has come through match funding during campaigns such as Grow Your Tenner, #GiveMe5 and Local Hero.
According to Localgiving, since 2009:

Marcelle Speller OBE, Localgiving founder, said:

“We are hugely proud to have reached this important milestone, which shows the positive impact our work has had on thousands of local causes and their beneficiaries.
“I launched Localgiving in 2009 with the vision of strengthening local communities across the UK by supporting grassroots groups to become financially independent and develop their core fundraising skills. Over the years I have seen first-hand both the amazing work that local charities do, as well as the difficulties they face in gaining the funds needed.”
