Friends of the Earth offers six-month rent-free residency for digital start-up
Friends of the Earth is offering digital start-ups the chance to win a rent-free six-month residency at its London office.
The prize offers six months’ free desk space, and also includes access to internal training and networking events, and, according to the charity could save the winner over £8,000.
The charity is asking applicants to submit a brief business plan and short video outlining how their ambitions complement its values. Applications close on 11th December, and shortlisted applicants will be invited to pitch to a panel of judges in January next year.
It is viewing the residency as an opportunity to build and nurture links with the UK’s entrepreneurial community, and with rent a significant cost for start-ups, is offering the prize to help save a start-up these costs in return for being able to occasionally tap into its digital, technical and innovation expertise.
The residency is being supported by online marketplace HubbleHQ, which connects start-ups and other small businesses with those that have space to rent out.
Simon Phillips, Friends of the Earth’s head of technology & infrastructure, said:
“Rent is a significant cost for start-up businesses, especially in London. This is a great opportunity for us to support an early-stage digital start-up and to nurture links with the entrepreneurial community.”
