Corporate fundraising round-up for the end of August 2016

Here are five corporate fundraising partnerships that have come to the attention of UK Fundraising this month.


Sick Kids


Property company ESPC has announced that Sick Kids Friends Foundation (SKFF) will be its chosen charity for the next year. Every year in June and July ESPC chooses a new charity to support with SKFF taking over from Royal Blind, its chosen charity for 2015/2016. ESPC’s support will help SKFF’s current project, which is to create a smooth transition for when the Royal Hospital for Sick Children (RHSC) moves from its current position in Quartermile to Little France in 2017.

CBRE has achieved its initial two year UK fundraising target of £500,000 for Shelter, and has extended its UK-wide partnership for a third year with a new target to reach by 2018 of £1,000,000. This target will be made up of £750,000 through employee fundraising and corporate donations, in addition to £250,000 of pro bono work and savings on behalf of the charity. Teams across the UK and from all levels of the business have participated in a mixture of fundraising activities including bike rides, rowing races, ‘tough mudder’ challenges, quiz nights, cake sales, marathons and climbing challenges along with effective volunteering and pro bono projects.


Team Jak

3) Livingston FC

Livingston FC is providing the Team Jak Foundation with an in-kind sponsorship package worth over £25k, which includes the charity’s name on the back of its shirts. The deal will help raise the profile of the charity which supports children with terminal llnesses and their families at respite centre Jak’s Den in Livingston, and also includes a celebrity charity match, following two successful matches over the last year, VIP tickets, access to the stadium for fundraising events, banners at the stadium and inclusion in all marketing material.


Hermes Samara

4) Hermes

Hermes has helped to transport more than 5,000 boxes of clothes and medical supplies across the UK for shipment to displaced families and refugees in Syria and Iraq. The company is supporting Samara’s Aid Appeal in its role as the charity’s official logistics partner for 2016. So far the appeal has provided 11 ambulances, almost 3,000 first aid kits and 1,300 care packages for expectant mothers and babies, as well as clothing for more than 120,000 people.


Maggies Scottish Power

5) ScottishPower Foundation

ScottishPower Foundation has awarded £41,266 to Maggie’s Glasgow to fund its programme of cancer care. The programme includes nutrition workshops, which cover treatment-related eating challenges, and offer the chance to ask questions about diet. The workshops are open to people with cancer and their families and friends. Other support includes courses on starting treatment, caring for someone with cancer, relaxation skills and how to adjust to the end of treatment.
