The shirt worn by Andy Murray during his winning Wimbledon match has raised £10,000 for charity via CharityStars auction.
The auction lasted 13 days and had 90 bids on Britain’s leading online charity auction website with the eventual winner bidding £10,000 for the shirt.
CharityStars hosted the auction on behalf of Malaria No More UK, a charity that Murray has supported since 2009, wearing the Malaria No More logo on his sleeve throughout this year’s Wimbledon tournament.
Helen Mabberley, head of fundraising at Malaria No More UK said:

“We’re hugely grateful to Andy Murray for donating his winning Wimbledon shirt; and to CharityStars for helping run an online auction that capitalised on the excitement generated by Andy’s second Wimbledon triumph. The auction proceeds will help us in our mission to achieve another historic win – beating this global killer disease for good.”

To date, CharityStars has raised over £2.5 million for charity.
