SPAR raises over £5m in 10 years for NSPCC
SPAR has raised more than £5 million for the NSPCC during a decade long partnership with the charity.
SPAR has been working with the NSPCC since 2006 raising funds to support services including ChildLine and the Speak out Stay Safe programme which visits primary schools across the UK teaching children how to recognise abuse.
Reaching £5 million is largely the result of the fundraising efforts of SPAR store employees and its five regional wholesale distribution centres – A.F. Blakemore, Henderson’s, James Hall & Co Ltd, CJ Lang and Son Ltd and Appleby Westward.
SPAR staff have been involved in a range of fundraising activities over the last ten years, ranging from long distance bike rides to golf days, fundraising balls, fancy dress events and in-store collections.
Susan Darbyshire, SPAR UK brand director, said:
“We are incredibly proud of all our SPAR stores for their dedication to raising funds for the NSPCC over the past 10 years. SPAR and the NSPCC will continue to work together to keep children safe in every community around our stores, with our sports day kits another great way of raising funds for the Speak out Stay Safe programme this year.”
