Virgin Money Foundation seeks North East projects in second funding round
The Virgin Money Foundation has announced its next round of funding, which will see £1m distributed between communities in the North East.
The Foundation is inviting applications from the North East for grants of up to £50,000 for projects and initiatives that will make a long-term, sustainable difference to their communities.
The first round of funding from the Foundation provided grants of between £10,000–£50,000 for 26 projects, in the North East region, to a total value of £1 million. The projects were assessed on their ability to deliver against the following criteria:
- enabling homeless people or people at risk of homelessness to find a home.
- providing opportunities for youth education, training, and employment; and
- creating and supporting community and social enterprises that sustainably create jobs.
Applications for this new round of funding should generally follow the same criteria and further details of how to apply for a grant are available at: www.virginmoneyfoundation.org.uk.
Edward Wakefield, chairman of Virgin Money Foundation, said:
