Nominate your local hero to win a surprise party

Howard Lake | 12 June 2015 | News

Local communities are invited by savoury pastry products producer Pork Farms to nominate their local hero to win a ‘pop up party’ to be held in the community.
The party, for up to 30 people, is designed to “recognise those unthinking kindnesses or selfless acts carried out by people who really make a difference to their community”.
The deadline for nominations is 21 June 2015 and the party will take place during the week of 13-17 July 2015.
Nominations for the Pork Farms Party must come from a UK resident, rather than from an organisation like a charity or community group, but that shouldn’t stop relevant individuals at organisations nominating a volunteer, donor or similar ‘local hero’ in a personal capacity.
Kim Burgess, Head of Markets for Pork Farms said:

“We all have someone in our lives that we appreciate, but may not necessarily have the chance to show our gratitude towards. We want to give everyday people the chance to celebrate those in their lives who make a difference to them, whether it be their local lollipop lady, teacher, parents, friends or even their dog!”

The party will be attended by friends and family, will include “an impressive array of party food” and may have a surprise or two for the winners.
