Blackbaud to offer free technology consultancy to smaller charities at FSI events
Software and services firm Blackbaud will this year be helping smaller charities with free technology consultancy at all events run by the Foundation for Social Improvement (FSI) during 2015.
The FSI runs free training events for small charities throughout the year, 11 in London and eight in other cities across the UK. It also runs the Small Charity Week programme of events and activities.
It aims to help build a more knowledgeable and impactful small charity sector and help smaller charities achieve their vision.
Blackbaud’s free technology consultancy at FSI events will focus in particular on how small charities can use technology to support fundraising and engaging with donors and supporters. The company knows from its 2014 Data Driven Fundraising research that more than one third of UK not-for-profit organisations feel that a lack of technology resources impacts their organisation’s ability to achieve their overall missions.
Pauline Broomhead, Chief Executive of the Foundation for Social Improvement (FSI), explained the partnership. She said:
“It’s a truly challenging environment for smaller charities, which account for more than 97% of registered charities in the UK. So being able to tap into the experience and expertise of an acknowledged technology leader in the sector, such as Blackbaud, will be a real asset to anyone attending our training or conferences this year.”
FSI events
The first FSI national training event of 2015 takes place in London in February. Subsequent regional events take place in Birmingham, Cambridge, Manchester, Newcastle, Brighton and Bristol.
The FSI also hosts “the largest free fundraising conference for small charities” in the UK, ’Sharing the Best’.
