25 arts organisations invited to host a Fundraising Fellow

Arts organisations are once again being invited to host a Fundraising Fellow, as part of the Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy Programme’s efforts to transform the skills of fundraisers across the arts sector.
There are currently 15 Fellows taking part in the Fellowship programme with organisation in the North of England, South West and London. With support from Arts Council England, the programme will be rolled out nationally in its third year, 2015/16.
Consequently, five Fellows will be supported from September 2015 in each of the Arts Council England’s five areas:
• London
• Midlands
• North of England
• South West of England
• East/South East of England
This means that 25 arts organisations are being sought to host a Fundraising Fellow.
Why host a Fellow?
Of course, the Fellows’ own learning and career development is enhanced by their experience of working with another arts organisation. But host organisations also report benefits, from increasing fundraising infrastucture and knowledge through to more active fundraising networks.
Helen Bowdur, Head of Development, Opera North, hosted Arts Fundraising Fellow Sarah Johnston, and commented:
“Sarah’s success in researching and making new connections with Hull’s business community has underpinned fruitful sponsorship negotiations and her recent success in securing grants from Trusts and Foundations has made a positive impact on our income target.”

Each host organisaton is required to contribute £10,000 towards the cost of their Fellow.
The deadline for applications from host organisations is Monday 19 January 2015.
The successful host organisations will be announced on 16 February, and Fellows will start work with the in September 2015.
