Howard Lake | 18 July 2013 | News

Norse Challenge, next month's Viking-themed extreme 10k obstacle course in Northumbria, has chosen Manchester-based children’s cancer research centre, KidsCan as its official charity partner.

The event takes place on 28 July and already close to 50 Viking-themed participants expect to raise over £4,000 for the charity.

They will have to traverse more than 20 obstacles, including a "UK record breaking 150 ft mudslide".

Norse Challenge co-founder, Keith Turner, said: "We want the first Norse Challenge to support a children’s charity with a strong heritage, and one whose work makes a significant positive impact upon the communities it aims to serve. We are delighted to be affiliated with KidsCan, and hope people will dig deep to ensure our event raises a substantial amount for a great charity."
