WorldPay to handle JustGiving's global donation processing

Howard Lake | 24 January 2013 | News

Online giving platform JustGiving has chosen WorldPay to handle its online giving transactions from donors around the world.

WorldPay processes tens of thousands of transactions every day. It accepts all major credit and debit cards, as well as payments made using more than 200 alternative payment types. It will also be able to handle the sudden surges in donations that JustGiving can experience. For example, during the London Marathon, the site is handling up to 6,000 donations per hour.

To date JustGiving has worked with Barclaycard to handle its transactions. The decision to work also with WorldPay was made in response to the growing number of donations in different currencies.

Neil Bannister, Chief Financial Officer at JustGiving, explained the choice: "In order to grow giving globally, it’s vital that online giving is as swift and seamless as possible, allowing donors to give whenever and wherever generosity strikes. We’ve chosen to work with WorldPay because we feel they’ll provide the best possible service for our users and will help us to grow charitable giving across the world."
