Ad Aid Browser Extension

AD AID is a new web browser extension that will display adverts in your web browser and donate the revenue generated to your chosen charity. The adverts are displayed above each web page that you visit and the income is raised at no charge to the user.

The service works on the Google Chrome browser, and can be downloaded from the Google Chrome Store. At launch AD AID lets users raise funds for organisations including charity: water, the British Heart Foundation, United Nations Foundation, Association of International Cancer Research, and New World International.

Clicking on the extension icon will let the user know how much they have raised as an individual, and how much the project they are supporting has raised.

AD AID has been developed by CHADEX Ltd, a company that provides free web tools for the charity sector.

CHADEX’s founder Lee Cassingham has a background in advertising for charities and has worked for clients such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Comic Relief and Action Aid. He said that he “aims to level the playing field in the charity sector because campaign success should be based on the strength of the campaign message, not the size of the campaign budget.”
